Parish Breakfast and Sandwich Sunday
Sunday, January 17, following the 9:15 a.m. service, Parish Hall
After the 9:15 a.m. service on the 17th, stay for warm fellowship, tasty food, and rewarding outreach during our every-third-Sunday Parish Breakfast and Sandwich Sunday. Breakfast will be a hearty, hot meal for a small suggested donation, and Sandwich Sunday is parishioners’ monthly chance to serve the patrons of Faith Café by preparing sandwiches and bag lunches for them to take after they receive a hot meal at the Café. Little ones are welcome to help, there’s a job for everyone!

Family Gasparilla Party
Saturday, January 23, 2:00 p.m., Discovery House
The family Gasparilla party is a chance to celebrate the pirate season with friends and neighbors at the Children’s Parade. Join us on January 23 at Discovery House at 2:00 p.m. for food and fun with other St. John’s families.
Bring a side item and soft drink or dessert to share.
Service for Families
Sunday, January 31, 9:15 a.m., Parish Hall
Join us for an engaging service created just for younger children and their families. The service runs concurrently with and is a little shorter than the 9:15 a.m. service. A child-friendly sermon, hymns that are easy to sing for young voices, and opportunities for children to serve as acolytes and ushers are all part of this new St. John’s tradition.
Youth Confirmation Begins
Sunday, January 31, 10:15 a.m., Discovery House
Each week we affirm our faith by the Creed and with the Eucharist. Confirmation is an opportunity to confirm the vows made at Baptism by a mature affirmation of faith. At St. John’s, youth in the 6th grade (or older) have the opportunity to be confirmed after confirmation classes. In confirmation class, participants explore and seek to understand the historic faith of the Church before they are confirmed by Bishop Smith on May 22, 2016. Classes continue in the new year on most Sundays leading up to Confirmation Sunday.
