Dear people of Saint John’s,

I am very excited to announce that I have called the Rev. Dale Van Wormer to be our new Priest Associate for Formation and Liturgy. Father Dale comes to us from the Diocese of Albany, NY. After interviewing several candidates, it became apparent that Father Dale was the right person for the job at Saint John’s. He brings several years of experience in ministry and a tremendous passion for teaching, preaching, and pastoral care.

Father Dale will officially join our staff on July 31. Please join me in thanking God for bringing Father Dale and Saint John’s together, and for a bright future making Jesus Christ known, hallowed, and adored in Tampa, Florida!

About Fr. Dale Van Wormer:
Fr. Dale is a native of the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York State, a graduate of Keuka College (History & Political Science, 2014), and an alumnus of Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Wisconsin. He is passionate about liturgy and sacred music and plans to share his love of teaching with us at St. John’s through seasonal classes that will be taught alongside Fr. Chris. As the new Associate Priest for Formation and Liturgy, Fr. Dale will also bring with him his love of pastoral ministry and share in the pastoral duties of the parish, through hospitality and in visiting the sick and shut-in.

Before attending seminary, Fr. Dale worked as a full-time baker for the grocer Wegmans and still enjoys cooking and baking as a hobby. He tries to burn off any carbs and calories from baking by playing tennis, swimming, or hiking.

Fr. Dale is very excited to join the team at St. John’s and looks forward to being with us at the end of July.
