Born and raised in Tampa, Jeff is a lifelong Episcopalian and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Jeff joined St. Johns in 1987 shortly before his late father, Richard Hunt, and stepmom, Mary Beth Hunt, were married at St. John’s by Father Peterson in April of 1988. After attending college at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Jeff and his wife, Jenn, moved back to Tampa in 1999 to start their family and were blessed with two sons – Drew (19) and Max (16) who were both confirmed at St. John’s. Both Drew and Max also attended and graduated from St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School, with Max being a “lifer.”
St. John’s has been a big part of Jeff’s life, and he finds comfort in his church home. He was a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Parish Day School’s Board of Trustees from 2014 to 2020, serving as Chair for the last three years of his service. Jeff served on the Rector Search Committee that resulted in the calling of Father Wood to St. John’s. Jeff is an early riser and loves attending the 8am service.
Professionally, Jeff is a Senior Managing Director of Skyway Capital Markets, a Tampa-based investment bank. Jeff serves on the board of directors for Florida Business Development Corp, and is a board advisor for Allison Fintech Co. Additionally, Jeff was a founding board member, and is a current advisory board member, of the Gasparilla Music Foundation, a non-profit addressing the needs of youth music and arts education in the Tampa Bay area.
