St. John’s Church recently announced our Music Series schedule for 2015-2016, which includes a significant expansion of the usual number of Evensong services planned for the year. Our Organist and Choirmaster Simon Morley said, “Choral Evensong is widely considered the jewel in the crown of the Anglican Choral Tradition – something for which St. John’s is recognized and upon which we are keen to build. It is a simple service in construction and not intended as a special occasion, and one that enables us to utilize our already extensive repertoire of canticles and anthems, including many settings of the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis that we currently use as Offertory Anthems and Communion Motets in the morning, since there is little opportunity to use them at other times.”

Sunday, April 17, 2016: Evensong, 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 15, 2016: Benefit Concert “Music for Royal Occasions,” 5:00 p.m., reception follows in the Parish Hall

Except for the Evensong on January 10, all events will take place in St. John’s Church.
