The Rev. Michael Cannon is excited to serve as Associate Rector. Though a South Carolina native, Michael did much of his growing up in South Florida. He is a second-career clergyman, having spent 28 years in business prior to seminary. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Washington & Lee University, and a Master’s of Divinity from The School of Theology in Sewanee, TN. He comes to St. John’s from St. Andrews, Ft. Pierce, where he was Assistant Rector.
Michael’s ministry is centered on responding to God’s call for reconciliation through worship, preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, while celebrating the new life we already enjoy in Christ Jesus. Michael is married to Erika, and they have a blended family with four adult children. He and Erika enjoy walking, reading, sports, watching movies, and offering hospitality. In addition to regular clergy duties, his work at St. John’s will center on incorporating members and visitors into parish life.
