We are searching for someone in the parish who has welcomed a new baby in the past month or is expecting one in the very near future, and would like their new addition to “star” in this year’s Christmas Pageant (December 24, 4:00 p.m.) as the one-and-only Baby Jesus. You will stay with your baby throughout the short (20 minute) play and will also be involved choosing the “manger” he or she is placed in, to ensure the utmost comfort for you and your child. If you’re interested or would like more details, please contact Whitney Wolf.

Mom’s Mornings Continue on November 16
Join us around 8:45 a.m. at Discovery House on Wednesday, November 16, to take a breath from your busy week and connect with other moms from the parish in a faith-based and supportive gathering. Come for as little or as long as you like. Coffee and toys will be available. Little ones are welcome!
Advent Wreath Making
Join us to celebrate the first Sunday of Advent on Sunday, November 27, by decorating a beautiful wreath to take home and enjoy for the rest of the season! Stay tuned for more details!
Our next meeting will be on Sunday afternoon, November 6, in Discovery House. Junior EYC (6th to 8th grades) will meet from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., and Senior EYC (9th to 12th grades) will meet from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.. We will all share a meal together at 5:30 p.m. We meet each month on the first and third Sundays.
If you are looking for a fun and welcoming place to meet new people, reconnect with old friends, serve others, and learn about our faith, then EYC is the place for you!
Youth Volunteering at Metropolitan Ministries
On Sunday, November 20, both Junior and Senior EYCs (all youth in 6th through 12th grades) are invited to volunteer at the Metropolitan Ministries Holiday Tent from 4:00 to 6:15 p.m. There will not be regular EYC meetings in Discovery House on that day. The Holiday Tent program allows Metropolitan Ministries to reach more of our community during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. We will be helping those in need by assisting with food and toy sorting, assisting in the donation lane, helping clients check-in, and any other areas as needed.
All youth who will participate must complete the online registration form found at https://stjohnsyouth.metromin.volunteerhub.com/prior to November 11. Parents of minors under 18 years of age must also complete a Metropolitan Ministries waiver and bring it with you to the Tent on the 20th. This event will be a wonderful way to give back to the community during Thanksgiving as well as continue to build our own community of amazing youth!
Visit our newly launched youth webpage by clicking here and get all the information about our full year’s activities, special events, camps, and more!
EYC Food Sign Up
It takes a lot to make a successful youth group, but most of all it takes FOOD, and EYC at St. John’s is no exception! A major part of our meetings is the fellowship and fun we have while sharing a common meal together with both the Junior (6-8 Grades) and Senior (9-12 Grades) EYC groups.
If you can help out by arranging for food for our bi-monthly EYC meetings, we would very much appreciate the help! Click here for the online sign up.
