What began as overwhelming need and insufficient resources has become more than enough for everyone.
We live in a culture that does not favor small, hopeful beginnings.
We live in the ‘not yet’ as we await the coming of God’s Kingdom.
The world is a mess right now.
Yoked to Jesus, our burden becomes light.
It is easy to close ourselves off, but it is well worth it to stay open to ideas that challenge us.
In treacherous times when powerful people or systems threaten us or others, we have to discern what God wants us to do, and we have to accept that doing it will cost us something.
He is saying to the Disciples ‘be the answer to your own prayer.’
Good shepherds needed. Hard work for low pay.
