May we, like John, constantly speak the truth, boldly rebuke vice, and patiently suffer for the truth’s sake.
They also have this in common: that the healing power experienced by Jairus and his daughter and by the bleeding woman is, in both stories, activated by their faith.
Today we celebrate the day above all days in our faith. This is the day we remember and proclaim the foundational event of our faith: the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.

This is a theme that runs through many of Paul’s letters. That is, that God’s wisdom turns human wisdom upside down.
An end is so close, but it is just not there yet.
But Advent reminds us that all earthly things, one day, come to an end, and that God is loving, faithful, patient and merciful.
God is in control; God is faithful.
Maybe nothing changes in our life that would make for some extraordinary story. Perhaps it is simply that the eye of our heart opens and we begin to engage ourselves. and others in small ways.
