Through Him, all the people God loves… will share in a peace that represents wholeness of person and unity with others.
An end is so close, but it is just not there yet.
So, for John, unconscious belonging and perfunctory atonement just don’t cut it. He seeks, and calls us to seek, the risky, the relevant, and the real.
But Advent reminds us that all earthly things, one day, come to an end, and that God is loving, faithful, patient and merciful.
